What's the concept ?
I filled a prompt for a brand new community called
. Don't let the banner fool you, it's not a D/C comm. It's like the
or the
but for the fan artists!! You leave a prompt and artists fill this prompt with an art (anonymously or not, as you wish) !! Isn't it absolutely FANTASTIC ?!!
I filled the following prompt :
Cigarette!Kink. Dean smoking a cigarette. That's all. Marlboro Reds are preferred, will gratefully accept any brand.
To be really honest, I didn't create this art especially for this prompt. It's just that the timing was perfect!!! I drew it this summer for one of my
prompts (see my Art Post for Moonstruck by ancastar ) but completely forgot about it. When I went in vacations to my house in Paris for Xmas, I found it, scanned it and just thought "yeah...I'll see about this drawing later..." (= this sketch is gonna die in the depths of my HD
). And then, just 3 or 4 days later I saw this cigarette!kink prompt!! It took me about 30mn to finish the art (adding a texture and some white highlights) et...voilà!!!
I didn't really have a precise idea when I drew this art, it was just a sketch I did in front of the TV with a couple of ball pens. It was aimed to be a kind of representation of Dean having a nightmare or something (and a good opportunity for me to practice flowers, trees, skulls and fractals)
Where does the title come from ?
It's inspired by an excerpt from the Bible (Psalm 23) : Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
I will fear no Evil (Non timebo mala) is the sentence engraved on the Colt.
Tools of the trade ?
Not a lot of things for once.
Traditional art : graphite (construction lines) + Pilot ball pen (BP-S Fine) + Bic pall pen (Medium)
Digital : Photoshop CS (texture + white highlights + ink stains + white trees)
An inspiration for the graphic style ?
I have a thing for ball pen arts! I didn't know it was possible to have so much fun with ball pens until I saw the following arts on the Internet. I am sorry, I don't know about the name of the artist but look at that!!
I really wish I could draw something like that one day! ♥

I hope so. However the scan I have here in Tokyo SUCKS. I will see what's the result is when I scan a ball pen art next time. If it's awful, I will wait until I go back to Paris again in April.
Next art ?
Probably at the end of the month. It will be time to post my calendar wallpaper for the month of February.
