Really good look a their early friendship and bond as soldiers. And, of course, all I can think as I read this was "Oh, Jack. This is going to come back and bite you in the ass." I love early Jack and Sam.

Thanks! Early Sam and Jack is just made of awesome :) You still have the friendship, and the UST but without all the deeper, darker angsty stuff between them thats in the later seasons.

And it does indeed come back to bite Jack in the ass!

I haven't read a stargate fic in a while and you reminded me why I love fanfic. Such a touching scene and something that
I could picture happening in the show.

My favorite line was: The bonds between soldiers in combat were more solid than most marriages -- such a powerful sentence!
