So my dad and his girlfriend and my sister came over last night and we went out for dinner. We had a pretty good time. They got us a present....but the card was a housewarming card not an engagement card. Housewarming, for the house we've lived in for like 8 months already. And we didn't get to talk about the wedding...at all. He kept changing

Maybe he's just still processing? Can you ask him about it in a non-confrontational way?

I'd be confused as all get-out too. My only guess is that he's having the "oh no, my baby's got a new central male figure in her life" thing, for lack of better wording, or maybe it's nervousness? Or something to do with the traditional notion that the bride's family has to pay for everything? I have no idea if any of this applies at all whatsoever... Though I'm guessing it's feeling weirded out by the change in things. Well, could be. Fear of change is a pretty common thing. Some of us no doubt deal with change better than others. But I don't know your dad, so... *shrugs*
