We have been in Melbourne and had dinner with John & Charlotte Lim on Chinese New Year Eve. They drove all the way from Mt Eliza (over an hour's drive) to meet us in the City. We had a really lovley night.

Sounds like you all had fun and the best part yummy food....I think of all the things I have ever, ever missed about living in S'pore & KL it's the speedy access to all the food I love.

So nice to hear from your Dawn. And yes, it is the year of the pig. It was fun indeed eating all the nice food and CNY goodies but just not enough exercise to burn in all up :(
I guess Chinese New Year celebrations in Oz would have been a fairly big thing in the China Town area, wouldn't it?
