finally, my response to the irish annual budget... it just keeps slipping my mind to write about it. so.... al in all people feel mugged by it and i see why. but on the other hand we knew hard decisions had to be made ( Read more... )

I think of the NHS as like rationing in WWII - lots of people went hungry, but nobody starved. One of my big reservations about potentially moving out of the UK is losing the NHS. I can't stand the idea that I would have to pay money to see a doctor.

Wiki didn't seem to mention anywhere what the situation is with healthcare for children in Ireland - does that mean they're not exempt from charges!?

they all get free healthcare till they hit 16
