It has been a long week. Petra has spent most of it unconscious, completly unaware of the passage of time. She lays in a bed tucked under homemade quilts. Food is forced into her, and her bandages must have been changed recently. The only thing missing is a thing of flowers by the bedside

Bonzo wakes from one of the many dreams.

What the hell is going on with these dreams?

Waking from the haze that is sleep, he looks around. Nobody else around, though there is food there.

And again nobody in sight...

The food is not bad, squash and pork, applesauce and corn and some mashed potatoes. Not exactly what Bonzo would be use to, but good solid food.

Bonzo munches on the food; it should be noted that he eats slowly, as eating is about the only 'entertainment' he gets around here. It's his sole distraction, so he makes the most of it.

And besides, there's no need to make it go down before he tastes it.

When Bonzo finishes his grazing, it's back to...well, doing nothing. Nothing but pacing and thinking.

Bonzo starts pacing back and forth. Occasionally, he mulls over whether he is, in fact, dead. The idea isn't appealing, but...if all he had was the privilege of fighting for two days to be followed by an eternity of boredom, he couldn't ask for much more of a punishment.

If they died in that cold room and he just didn't notice, it would make even more sense to him.

And I wasn't good enough to save her. I tried, and I couldn't get Petra back to the Bar.That gnaws at him deeply, and with nobody else around to notice, he occasionally mutters, occasionally throws a temper tantrum and punches the wall (something he hasn't been

Bonzo's door opens, and the hound enters. He jumps upon the bed and curls up, his golden eyes staring at Bonzo. "When will you cease to be selfish?"
