yeah, i have that, though haven't tried using it. it seems that some gps/map apps require you to keep your phone on the whole time. i'll see if i can run it in the background when the iphone is off

you can find those most any weekend for about $20 at garage sales. trillions of them were made. that they're still around in one piece says a lot for the quality, although it may speak more about their lack of use by the owners as well.

that one's made for somebody with an inseam of 30" or so, judging by the length of the headtube. so maybe for somebody 5'9 and up.

it's got single piece cranks and lots of steel parts, making it heavy and inefficient when it comes time to braking in the rain.

you can read about its construction here:

in short, i would avoid it.

and i have a list of visual points that'd help judge this bike if it didn't have a brand name/model on it, if you're interested.

i have to make chopped liver, so maybe later i'll post them

maybe it's easier to find cool bikes in LA. garage sales around here are usually pretty lousy. if they have bikes they're just mountain bikes and kids bikes.

i've wanted a road bike for so long. but i'm also concerned that they way i ride wouldn't work with a rode bike. riding in grass, riding off curbs, bumps and holes in the ground, over train tracks, rocks and dirt, stuff like that.

i wish anaheim had bike lanes everywhere. the sidewalks are fucked up everywhere.
