I gained about .5% interest in seeing Man of Steel after seeing that it seemed to be a sad SF story about dead parents and lonely aliens...not enough so that I've actually, you know, gone to the theater and seen it, but the desire is there! Sort of! I am okay with the metaphor for Jesus, I guess.

Weirdly enough, I think Steve Rogers in the modern day does a better job of being a metaphor for the immigrant experience, what with his constant sense of cultural displacement and not to mention all the missed pop culture references! Or maybe this is just the fanfiction.

I really, really wanted to see Hansel and Gretel, because I am all about terrible movies that are also fun, but none of my friends wanted to see it, because none of my friends understand the concept of fun. "Let's go see Zero Dark Thirty instead," they suggested. You guys, that movie is the exact opposite of Hansel and Gretel.
