Dear Haters,

I think that spending all your energy ranting about things you hate is a massive waste of your time and mine. Not only do I not care about what you hate, but I also think you're irritating and ignorant. For your information, nobody is going to assume you're into a trend because you do not violently express how much you abhor it. Unfortunately, when you do voice your common and exaggerated Hater opinion, I stop listening and automatically categorize you into the "Conformist Trend-Hater" group in my head, which will, in future situations, remind me not to bring up anything remotely popular (old or new) with you ever again because you provide no intelligent discussion nor any chance of an open-minded debate. Instead, I listen to you berate something of no importance for ten minutes without getting a word in and wonder how much you like the sound of your own voice. If I dare to support the trend in question, you take it as a personal attack and another lengthy rage-filled rant ensues, which is sometimes on the offensive and subsequently I myself am personally offended by it and left wondering why because it's a stupid conversation to begin with.

Why do you carry such passionate loathing with you everywhere you go? As a method of expression to build your self-concept? Why not instead passionately love something?

If you are at all interested in being around happy, positive people, you need to stop being negative. It's not only about pity parties and self-deprecation, it's also about whining and complaining. Happy, positive people do not spend their time with whining, complaining people because it is draining and contagious.

Yes, it is harder to be positive than it is to be negative, but the more you do it the better you'll be at it, and the more folks will want to be around you. I challenge you to take something you hate and for every complaint you have, say something good about it. Develop an open mind. Think outside the box.

This message brought to you by every trend in news, film, literature, behaviour, fashion, et cetera, and myself, tired of reading negative status updates about Crocs, Twilight, electronic artists, and so on. If you don't like Crocs, don't wear 'em. If you don't like Twilight, don't read the books or watch the movies. If you don't like electronic music, don't listen to it. It's easy! We don't need to argue about stupid shit.

Sincerely,
K.
