Dear Lord Taino

Lord Taino, Militia Chief:

I trust this day in Fortuna finds you well. I am sorry to inform you that the house that collapsed today in the southeast ward appears to have been caused be a foul and vexatious subterranean beast of monstrous proportions. It is of unknown speed, and may be tainted by the black road, though I could see no clear evidence of the foul taint of the curse'd forest in my pursuit of the creature with the aid of several foreigners; one Lady Emma of Feldane, a Lord Jaymesin, and of course, the Generalissimo de Mandrake.

I urge you to use your authority to summon some of the militia, seal off the premises, and only allow entry for someone who can successfully tell your guards what is down there - were the true nature of the problem to get out, it could well cause a riot. Control this information carefully, and take any qualified help that presents itself.

In my mind, there are several priorities:

* Map the great worm's tunnels. Learn of a place where it might be trapped. Determine if there is more than one worm.
* Determine the beast's speed without angering it, and a way to lure it.
* Create an effective kill-zone that prevents a surface breach.

I am seeking experts. Woe to Fortunatos that should get in the creature's path should it breach, enraged!

Your humble servant,
Petrus Pitello.
