[Character IC Information]
Character Name and Series: Gokudera Hayato from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Name in Role Play: Same as above.
Race/Ethnicity: Human Hunter/Italian and Japanese
Age: 18
Gender: Male

Appearance:
Gokudera is quite the opposite of most hunters in that he doesn't appear to have had much physical conditioning.. ever. His body is small and frail, one might even venture to say "petite," though making that kind of observation in front of Gokudera might end in a fist to the face. He's short for his age, though he mostly blames this feature on his Japanese heritage.

Though, the mixture of ethnicity has given Gokudera a very unique look to him, something that has caught the eye of a great share of flirtatious women. His hair is a silver color, perhaps even grey, though with his youthful face, the color doesn't seem to add any years onto his appearance. His eyes are a bright, intense green, but as his face is almost set into a glower, one might find it difficult to get a good look at them. He gives off something of a grouchy, stand-offish attitude, which reflects in how he carries himself. He can usually be found with his arms crossed, scowling or any other sort of posture that demands for him to be left alone ( though this often has the opposite effect, leading to many girls or other people bugging him endlessly ).

The traditional wear of Italy is not something enjoyed by Gokudera, but he will endure it if he has to. If given a choice, he likes to wear clothing from Japan, as it seems to fit him much better and compliments his tastes better ( usually tight-fitting jeans and trendy t-shirts and jackets ) He will often wear several accessories with his clothing, including bracelets, rings, excess belts or chains, wristbands and the like. When he is hunting, Gokudera will downsize the amount of accessories he wears, as they can get in the way while he's fighting. If dealing with members of the Mafia, Gokudera will wear suits, which he doesn't seem to mind as much. He also has a pair of glasses he wears while reading, though he tends to leave them off if he's in the middle of a fight.

Personality:
Despite how many admirers he has, Gokudera does not act as a person who deserves all the attention, and he actually would prefer it if everyone else agreed on this. He hates being in social situations and if he's forced to do so, he'll be very quiet and voice his discomfort or displeasure without hesitation. He'd like it very much to be left alone or at least away from stupid, annoying or immature people, no matter how hard to find they may be. He is easily embarrassed in these social situations by things he finds "stupid" and he will rush to find the nearest exit whenever possible.

Gokudera seems to hold himself in very high regard in comparison to most other people he runs into, especially those in his age group. He finds typical people to be stupid and irritating and he'd love nothing more than to avoid them entirely and never have to deal with them again. He doesn't ever seem to be that lucky, however, often being forced to interact with those that irritate him on a regular basis. A great deal of this arrogance might come from the fact that Gokudera is smart. Not just smart, but bordering on child-prodigy, natural-genius-level of intelligence. In school, he was high above his grade level of understanding and he obviously is the same even now. He is a quick learner and understands things best when presented in an intelligent way; dumbing things down to him will just piss him off. Everyone else? Well, if they're lucky, Gokudera might take the time to explain or teach things to them, but one shouldn't expect him to dumb it down, either. Gokudera is horrible at explaining things for this reason, as he expects everyone to be on his level, and if they aren't? Well, they're just a waste of his time.

But even as Gokudera is insanely smart, he is downright retarded when it comes to things like emotions. He is usually angry, irritated or aloof about just about everything, so if someone is overly-happy or optimistic, he doesn't seem to understand why anyone in their right mind would act that way, not taking into consideration that some people are just happy people for whatever reason. His temper is also very short and it doesn't take much at all to get him pissed off and screaming; usually being an idiot is enough to get the job done. Being easily embarrassed prevents Gokudera from expressing himself fully in most situations and being sensitive to people? You can forget about that, as Gokudera is a Tough Person and there's no room on his agenda to be sensitive.

There is one thing Gokudera cannot stand and that is losing a fight. He is very competitive and confident in himself, so obviously he can never lose. While in most street-fight-type situations, Gokudera's speed and technique gives him the upper hand to your average punks, he takes his hunting far more seriously. He is physically weaker than the creatures he hunts, so he has to use thrift and skill to be able to fight without getting himself killed. Especially due to his vendetta against vampires in particular, Gokudera can become very heated and determined and there is little that can get him to retreat. This becomes even more intense when he is fighting to protect someone he cares about--as rare as that situation is--and Gokudera's brain automatically commands for him to fight as hard as he can and to never, ever back down, no matter how injured he becomes as a result. Any thrift he had while fighting is thrown out the window in favor of trying to protect or impress whoever he's fighting for.

In this vein, Gokudera has a very strong sense of loyalty to those he acknowledges as higher up in the chain than himself, provided they have first done something to "prove" themselves to him. If they have, they can expect Gokudera to follow them blindly wherever they go, not entirely stopping to question their decisions and backing them indefinitely. If anyone were to insult or threaten his boss, Gokudera could very well go ballistic and attack or even attempt to kill the idiot who did so, only stopping if given the command to by his boss. If he ever was to fail a mission, not only would Gokudera become very depressed and self-loathing, but he would also berate himself to the point of being irrational. Usually, it takes a great deal to get him out of this kind of funk, though the best way seems to be riling him up as a form of motivation.

For as grumpy and irate as Gokudera is, if you happen to be a part of his family, you should just take whatever he says with a grain of salt. While he will talk down to everyone aside from his boss, underneath that, Gokudera does worry about his family in his own way and places a great deal of trust in them. If he had somehow failed a mission, he puts his faith in the rest of his family to finish the job, making obvious at times how worried or confident he is in them, as he really has a hard time concealing his emotions when it comes down to it.

Abilities/Weaponry:
As a hunter, Gokudera has several means to kill his prey, but the most heavily used method seems to be explosives. He is an expert at developing and using these explosives, able to tweak them to suit several situations, varying to suit the needs of defense and offense, depending on the prey in question. He is also very good at hand-to-hand combat and is quick on his feet, both needed abilities if his supply of explosives were to run out. Also on his person, Gokudera has several lighters and packs of cigarettes, and while that may hardly be a weapon on its own, Gokudera implements both heavily in his fights, mostly to ignite fuses quickly. Finally, for hunting vampires, Gokudera has a steak, also a cross dangling from a necklace that he hides under his shirt.

Weaknesses:
Gokudera's entire personality as a whole could be considered a great weakness to him, given how many weak points they provide. Being overly confident or self-loathing are both aspects of himself that are easily preyed upon as well as his egoistical method of fighting, and of course his enemies can expect him to shun any form of assistance offered to him, making it even easier to put Gokudera in a dangerous situation. His bombs are also a weakness as while they're powerful and get the job done, they're not exactly the most inconspicuous method of hunting. They're loud, flashy and can often garner a great deal of unwanted attention. Not only that, but they require a deep concentration and spot-on timing; the slightest distraction can make Gokudera misjudge distance and potentially harm himself or an onlooking innocent.

History:
Gokudera was born in Italy into a mafia family, run by his father. However, Gokudera's birth wasn't exactly typical, as he was not born of his father's wife, but instead, another woman who his father was having an affair with. Gokudera's mother was beautiful and kind, an aspiring pianist who played for the family and she was easily seduced by his father.

However, when he was born, Gokudera's father had to think of a way to cover up his adultery and mafia code prevented his mother from being involved with their family, so she was, in essence, "erased" from the family, no longer permitted to play for them or even walk on the grounds of the villa. However, his father was not entirely merciless in this decision, and allowed his mother to visit her son three times a year, as long as they were scheduled ahead of time.

In the meantime, his father's wife and mother of his first child, Gokudera's older sister Bianci, would take over and play the part of Gokudera's birth mother to everyone else, even if there were often some murmurs of questions about the boy who looked nothing like his parents. It was true; Gokudera looked nothing like his father and obviously nothing like Bianci's mother, his birth mother's genes taking precedence, making him a very tiny, frail, though no less adorable, boy.

In between visits with his mother, Gokudera was taught how to play the piano, just like her, and even began to learn how to become a hitman for the mafia, so that he could protect the family properly someday. From an extremely young age, Gokudera was submitted to various tutors who lectured the little boy on all sorts of things, causing his childhood to be very bland and stressful. The only times that Gokudera really smiled were when he got to see his mother. Those were moments he cherished more than anything.

However, these visits weren't meant to last. On the day of Gokudera's third birthday, something horrible happened. His mother was running late driving up to the villa to see her son, and as the car was making a turn up the hill, it broke down. His mother left the car to walk the rest of the way up, leaving her driver to make a call for help. As she traversed up the hill, the sun was starting to set and soon it was dark, the moon glaring down at her from above. She felt a chill suddenly, as if a pair of eyes were fixated on her every move. But, before she could so much as scream, it was too late: she became the meal of a hungry vampire, her body left on the road to rot.

The news of his mother's death didn't seem to shock the family, for whatever reason, and Gokudera was clueless of what happened to her until he was about eight, when he had heard some of the maids gossiping about the incident. Until then, Gokudera spent his days practicing the piano, as well as his hitman skills. He wasn't a very social child, often shunned by the other children in his family for some unknown reason, one he assumed to be because his parents weren't married. He and his sister's relationship was strained due to this, and her own hitman skills only added onto the discomfort; she became an expert in poison cooking and many times forced Gokudera to eat the food she had made, leading him to become physically ill whenever he came in contact with her.

When the fateful day when Gokudera found out the truth about his mother's disappearance, Gokudera was shocked and enraged, and without much thought, he left home, growing a deep-seated hatred for supernatural creatures, vampires in particular. He traveled around Italy, perfecting his hitman-turned-hunter abilities, acting as a body guard wherever he could until he managed to save up enough money to start living on his own. He heard word from some other hunters connected to the mafia that the famous Reborn was seeking out members of the Vongola family and more specifically, the Tenth Generation Boss, to which Gokudera started to wonder if he should be interested in proving himself and rejoining the mafia. While he was still a part of the Vongola family, he wasn't exactly sure about all the details of it, and he was far too busy being a hunter to bother researching. All he really knows is that he will stop at nothing to eradicate vampires from existence for what they had done to his mother.

Organization/Pack/Clan/Guild?: His immediate family is a part of the Vongola clan, though Gokudera himself isn't aware of the details entirely. Being a hunter, and if given an opportunity, he would probably join a guild or something of the sort, but at the moment, he is on his own.
