My Stardust Melody, Chapter 44, Part One

Reid barely slept that night. His mind couldn't shut down from all his racing thoughts. He was excited and hopeful while at the same time scared to death. His only other relationship had ended in disaster, and he absolutely did not want to screw this up. He thought about it all night and considered his one long-term boyfriend, Nick. Would Reid do ( Read more... )

So nice that now it was Reid his time to talk about his fears and needs.

Luke listend with respect. I love that they are talking to each other instead of assuming what the other is thinking or feeling.

I thought Reid needed to show a little gumption and own up to how he was feeling. And yes, we're finally to the point where they're really listening and understanding each other without a bunch of secrets or miscommunications between them. Yay!

Thank you!

Ha! I caught the reference to Oakdale Confidential. I read it a little bit after it first came out when I saw it at Sam's Club. I didn't read the follow up books.

I'm glad Luke gave Reid a chance to babble. I like babbling Reid.

I never did read Oakdale Confidential, but I certainly remember seeing it in stores. Since you didn't get through it, I'm guessing I didn't miss out.

I like babbling Reid, too!

Thank you for reading!

Thank you! After being blindsided the night before, I felt like Reid needed to take a little ownership of what he needed in a relationship and not just follow Luke's lead.

One thing I wish I'd had time to do was explore Reid's views on relationships more. I think you and I discussed how he always really wanted a family from being involved with Nathan's but that he felt like he'd never be capable of having one. I think that would have dovetailed nicely with even a little more info about Nick. But, um, there's only so much time I can give this thing.

Haha, Reid should be more screwed up than he is, but those Oakdale psychologists work miracles. Hey, and let's not forget Angus messed with Reid, too. Reid really overcame an amazing amount. (I'd actually forgotten that until I reread some old chapters this weekend, lol).

Thank you!

They’d once gone to a Japanese restaurant, and Reid had been so vociferously affronted by the Hibachi chef’s efforts to entertain him that the staff had actually applauded when Nick and he left the restaurant.

That's Petuniagirl's humor I like so much!
