this guy I'm reading, who's talking about how Darwinism can help us understand international politics, he says that we need to start with two fundamental and uncontestable assumptions: 1) Humans are evil. 2) Humans have an innate drive to dominate. There's a difference between trying to better ourselves and accepting "inherent" limitations. Learning French is trying to better yourself. Trying to fly without the aid of an airplane, hangglider, or other aeronautic device is refusing to accept an inherent limitation.

Nonetheless, I don't think I agree with this idea that "evil" (whatever THAT means) comes from failing to accept limitations. Evil is just a word we use to describe harmful actions we don't understand.
