I'm surprised this isn't on my friends list yet, but apparently Robert Jordan has died. I never read any of his books, so I'm not as affected as I was when Madeleine L'Engle died, but none of the people on my friends list had mentioned it so I thought I would ( Read more... )

Theories among Wheel of Time readers tend to pretty solidly embrace the thesis that his wife started ghostwriting him pretty heavily a few books back- I bet we'll see a whole string of posthumous 'collaborations' out of her, if we don't just get the full-on L. Ron Hubbard treatment ('OH HAY HE WROTE A WHOLE SERIES BEFORE HE DIED! A WHOLE SERIES AND ALSO THIS BOOK ON RELIGION!).

I'm not really affected, other than by amusement. Not at his death, but at the fact that he never finished his series, so instead of it possibly being viewed as this great, really long epic, people will now be justifiably pissed that he inflated his stuff to the point where they will never know what happens.
