I just started watching Ripper Street on BBC America, and now I have new crush: Capt. Homer Jackson. I don't really find the actor that attractive, but when he's in character, he is awesome!
And when I say watch, I mean I watched the first 3 eps but it wasn't enough of a distraction and when I no longer need a distraction I'm going to watch the other 5 eps . . .
Hey you!! ((hugs)) So far I've watched episodes 1, 2, 6 and 7, because that is what was available through my cable provider. I'll have to watch the other episodes online. I have an urge to watch them all right away, but I will try not to because an entire year is a long ways to wait for new episodes! I really like all the characters on the show, especially the 3 main leads, and the way they interact with each other. So far the story lines have been pretty good too, and unpredictable. :)
It's a bugger how the English have very short seasons and a long wait between each series. But they make up for it in quality. Just a pain having to wait . . .
Love the show! Just wish this first season/series was longer. All three of the main characters are excellent, and Homer Jackson in particular is quite sexy!
Yay! I kept seeing commercials for it, but for some reason it took me a few months to actually tune in. I still need to see episodes 3-5 and 8. Homer is such a goofy name, but I actually think it suits him better, compared to his real name. Although I think I will just call him Jackson. :) So far I think Episode 7 is my fav, as he was particularly sexy. :) I like how Susan said something about only he could make cheating so heroic. It actually reminded me a bit of Ezra. :) He and Susan have such a unique relationship. I hope they explore it more in S2.
Ah, that must be why I like Homer: he does seem a lot like Ezra! And yes, I like his relationship with Susan, especially after finding out their history in the second to last ep. Looking forward to season 2!
I've really enjoyed Ripper Street, a lot more than I was expecting to! But yes, it is annoying how short our UK shows are in comparison to the lovely long seasons in the US.
Me too! It took me 2 months of seeing the commercials to finally tune in, but I'm really enjoying it. I think most of the characters are very interesting, and I really like how they show the early use of forensics. There are a few shows in the US that have short seasons (like Hell on Wheels), but at least they don't wait an entire year before airing the next season! I really hope all the main characters are signed on for S2.
You're welcome! I'm really thrilled that you decided to watch the show based on my post! I still have a few episodes I need to see, and I know that I missed a few scenes of other ones, because BBC America edits some of the show. But I just ordered the DVDs, so I will get to watch the whole thing soon! I hope the 2nd season has more than 8 episodes.

Sherlock? 3 episodes per series. Granted they're almost 2 hours long each. But. It's going to be well over a year between series 2 and series 3.
