Obligatory swine flu post

Yeah, late to the party. Not panicking, because normal seasonal influenza kills about a thousand times more people every year than swine flu has killed in total, and we don't panic about that. Anyway, here is an interesting theory on how this thing might have come up ( Read more... )

Indeed. It's not looking promising for change - the only mention I've heard of new protocols is that the CDC is going to monitor intensive pig farms as well as chickens *rolleyes*

Don't eat intensively-farmed meat, ever. This is only the latest reason to make that choice.

I don't think anything will change. Once the panic is over, the populace as a whole tends to forget easily. We've had many mad cow scares, and people still eat beef.
