Oh, totally. I've someone on my flist who's all "OMG innocent til proven guilty" about MJ, but any other news story about rape or molestation she posts, the accused is painted as a monster.

I guess it's "innocent til proven guilty for people I approve of, fuck everyone else".

I agree. Even with non-celebrities it's like this. Whenever someone is killed in an accident or something, on the news, they always say crap like, "so-and-so was loved by so many people. She was a popular student, on the [some sport] team, always full of life, and aspired to be a doctor" or something. If I was killed in a car accident, what would they say about me?

"Surrey Sucks was a bitch. No one loved her except for her cat. She got shit grades and had no career aspirations, and it took her 13 years to get her undergrad. And she was slut. She wasn't pretty, but damn, she had nice tits."
