Fair enough. I always use (chicken) stock cubes when I make vegetable soup/stews and they are loaded with salt!

I really should finish my "Cooking for Hackers" book.

Buying recipe books is an addiction. I currently have 75. And rising.

Are you near a Trader Joe's? There's a great cookbook out that features fabulous recipes using TJ products. My brother actually found it -- he hates to cook but really likes this one. There's a Bachelor Quickies section, so he makes the heat-and-eat menus and says they're quite good. I like to cook and have a family, so I'm having a lot of fun exploring all the recipes (plus I get to do a lot of shopping at Trader Joe's!)

LOL, you should have seen some of the looks on people's faces when I told them that I actually threw my microwave out! I prefer the more natural way of cooking, on the stove, in the oven. Thanks also for the idea of getting a Trader Joe's cook book. I love that store. It will make for a great Christmas present.
