I'd have to go with 1984-style "corrupted communism". The one thing that really stuck with me about the Ingsocs was their concept of power as an end, not as a means to an end. Power isn't gained for pleasure, or for the gain of material goods that follows. Those are nice perks, but the final objective is power of itself and for itself.

It's also pretty hard to top how they deal with dissidents. Sure, the Telvanni would kill you given the chance, but would they lock you into a sunless prison for god-knows-how-long, torturing you until everything you were is shattered like a broken window? Also note that by converting their enemies, their power and influence is then used to serve the Ingsocs. This can be seen as another version of the 'evil feedback loop' from before.

Just like when reading Freud you can substitute "power" whenever you see the word "penis", "evil" goes in for "power" when dealing with the Ingsocs. They're not that far off to begin with anyway.
