"In Between: Race in America Today" & Race Discussion

Mar 02, 2011 13:06

In Between: Race in America Today is a free online lecture by author Rev. Mark Morrison-Reed. It's long, but it includes a very interesting question and answer session with some comments from the audience, too.

Rev. Mark Morrison-Reed is coming to Prince George's County here and can be seen live (at no charge) on July 24, 2011, followed by a discussion.

There's also a regular discussion on race in Camp Springs, Maryland here and all are welcome. The next one will be Fri. night, March 11, 2011 at 7:30 PM. Our discussion this month will be about "A Review and Analysis of the causes of the American Civil War; from Lincoln's perspective, from Jefferson Davis' perspective and from what modern day historians say." For more information, you can call Dr. Chris Bell at 301-856-2775 or email him at cecebejr[at]aol.com.

If you're interested in starting your own discussions on race, there's a local blogger on race who has a book (very reasonably priced on Amazon), "Let's Talk About... Race: A workbook for safe, honest, and productive group discussions" by Angela Dion
