Mom and Dad may have a rough night. Mom is in a manic mood, but she is also out of touch with reality; putting a slice of meat in the toaster, using floor cleaner to wash the dishes (I stopped the machine before it could flood the kitchen with bubbles), leaving a sponge in the freezer, pouring a glass full of ice and apple juice, than pouring it ( Read more... )

She isn't much of a fan of the ocean. We'll just have to wait for the UCLA people to do more tests.

Possibly, I'm not sure. If she were, I'd imagine my role in the household would change from son looking for work and taking classes to son working as part time caretaker. I dont really want to do that. I can't abandon her, but I don't want to be anchored to her either.

Call the Social Security office and tell them your story. If your Mom or your Dad has worked a job recently, she is probably qualified.That will get her a monthly stipend and probably eligible for either Medicare or Medicaid depending on her age and the numbers. It will also get you some medical assistance.

It's a real chore and will require you to invest some time and some running around... but in the end, it will be worth it. There is help out there if you know where to look for it.

She might qualify, she keeps wanting to go back to work. We're going to wait for the UCLA people to determine what's wrong in the mean time.
