Last Sunday, Dec. 4th I flew out to Palm Springs, CA to be a guest faculty lecturer at the UC Riverside MFA program.  Tod Goldberg (writer, uber-blogger, man about town, and director of the Palm Desert MFA program) kindly extended me the invite to talk about something related to speculative fiction. First, there's nothing more horrific than flying. I've purposefully driven from LA to Palm Springs just to avoid the puddle jumper. *sigh* Not sure which is worse.

Second, I love the powerpoint.

Finally, is hiking with mountain lions more or less scary than flying?

Irrationally so, hiking with mt. lions is less scary. I can maybe fight off a lion with a big stick/rock. I can't land a plan with a big stick/rock.
