I read a lot last year. 109 books to be precise (full list including comments, as usual, is at LibraryThing - sort by date read, almost all genre and a lot of it silly, but then I read for entertainment :)) but here are my stand-outs. Rated 4 stars or higher, sorted by author:

Great to see Scott Westerfield and Scott Lynch so high on your list. Two of my favourite authors at the moment.

Wait - you're saying our taste in books overlaps? I wouldn't have thought that possible except that I can totally see you liking Lynch and Westerfeld :) What were your top reads for last year?

With the amount we both read I'd be very surprised if they didn't overlap here and there ( ... )

We haven't disposed of all of our boxes yet if you need some and don't mind jumping in the car? Not many of them would be book friendly as most of these are computer boxes (we borrowed book/dvd size boxes from my folks) but they're great for big things like saucepans etc. Anyway, all yours if you want them.

As for these, looks like I need to check out Reeve and Rothfuss! You need to start using LT again so that I can keep up with your reading ;)

I'm glad you loved Lynch as much as I thought you would =) Also pleased to see a few up there whose work I really enjoyed also. You'll be proud - I now own my own copies of Westerfeld. I was specific about the covers I wanted for Snyder too.

PS. Chosen by a Horse looks interesting (I looked it up). I'll have to track it down. =)

Twas good. Think Marley and Me but with horses. If I remember who I handed it along to I'll see if I can't nab it back for you (assuming they're done)...

Oooh. If/when they are done, that would be most cool.

I just heard of the Aurora Teagardens mysteries - looking through the ebook catalogue! Shall have to give them a try on your recommendation. I've still only read book 1 of the Southern Vamp series too.

Placed my first Book Depository order today, mwah ha ha!

Congrats on your order :) Let the addiction begin!

And a word of warning - Aurora Teagarden has dated and it's also a lot more hit and miss than Sookie. I think I prefer the Southern Vampire SERIES, but a couple of the Roe books were better on their own. If that makes sense?
