House looked up from his computer the moment he heard the door opening, a slightly crooked smile on his face. He'd been whiling away the time until Candy arrived playing solitaire, which in his mind made him seem slightly less nervous than pacing the room.

Not that he'd admit to being nervous, of course. He was a bit out of practice at this kind of thing and he certainly wasn't used to having beautiful women invite him out for drinks, but he wasn't nervous. Just a little rusty.

"You bet." He quickly logged off the computer and got to his feet, grabbing his leather jacket from the back of his chair. He flicked the lights off as he reached the door. "Hope you're not expecting the Princeton night life to be as exciting as you're used to."

"Oh please. I've seen what the Ivy League turns out. I work with it." She chuckled and fell into step with him as they walked down the hall. "So how did the rest of your day go, Greg?"

"I suppose you do see just about everything in Vegas."

He used his cane to punch the elevator button and shrugged. "Pretty much like most of my days go: I hounded my team, they argued with me, eventually they saw the light and did what I told them. I've definitely had worse days." He glanced over at her. "I meant to ask you--are you in Jersey for business or pleasure?"

"It's work. Business trip with my boss." She smiled and held the elevator door for him when it arrived. She didn't want to treat him like he was helpless, but she wasn't going to make him do everything himself either. "I didn't really have much of a choice. He likes to mess with me in any way he can."
