ffffuuuuu...

I just looked at my prompts for aiholidaybash and realized that the story I had planned doesn't actually fit the prompt. And also that it's due in two weeks.

HOW DO I LET THESE THINGS HAPPEN???

I'm tempted to drop out and work on my charity fic instead. But I hate dropping out. Uuuuggggghhhh. Take this poll. Tell me what to do.

I already emailed fakeplasticsnow about it. I probably won't drop out. I NEVER drop out of stuff. But I also can't write a complete fic in 1000 words. My problem is really that my prompts are very specific, and while I had a great idea for one of them, I failed to see the part where my giftee wanted a specific time period for that pairing, so my idea fell apart :(

Still, I have jury duty next week. Maybe I can write it then!

I think the answer is clear! Is work still crazy? Because if not... :p

Work is insane :/ The new website is launching next week, I've got a doctor's appointing, jury duty, and grade reporting next week as well, plus I'm coordinating an institute and arranging travel, accommodations, and honorariums for 17 people. I've never done honorariums before, and it's a BITCH. It's like a mountain of paperwork.

Oh, and then there's my actual job.

Yeah THAT is a lot of work. I wish I had work... :(

Jury Duty? Just dress as Princess Leia and bring some Playgirl from the 80's. You'll get out of it.

Well good luck with... all of it!

Maybe ignore the specific time period on the prompt? Most holiday exchanges say to use the prompts as a general guideline anyway? Though I admittedly don't know the rules are for the aiholidaybash are. Your prompter will probably like a whole range of things! IDK, that's the best I've got.

I didn't answer drop out, but I selfishly want to see the cake artist!AU. Later. Sometime. Just, you know. If there's ever a moment where you're like, "GOD, I WANT TO WRITE SOMETHING BUT I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO," think of me in my corner of the internet and know that I'm waving a little I ♥ phaballa sign and I'm cheering on JC, the little cake artist who could.

I really want to finish the cake artist AU. I think it'll be really sweet and fun. Maybe over Christmas, when I'm in Ohio with nothing else to do :P

I can't in good conscience advise you to drop out, because I know you wouldn't like yourself for doing that. So don't. But I'm sitting off to the sidelines with wutendeskind -- I want to see the "JC as the Awesome Cake Artiste AU" too. Can you take your netbook along to jury duty and work on it?

That is exactly what I am hoping for. I'm taking my netbook to jury duty, and so hopefully I can work on fic while I'm sitting around waiting to see if I get picked.

I mean, I might as well write the holiday fic. I think I can do it, since circumstances have shifted a bit anyway. THEN I need to write my charity fic. THEN I can write the cake artist AU, which really I think will take no time once I set my mind to it, because it's not like writing AI fic... I know JC and Justin WAAAAAAAY too well to have any struggles with characterization or canon :P Plus, it's an AU. Plus, I've known what happens in this fic since like 8 months ago when I started it.

A technical question -- do you have Word and such loaded on your netbook? If not, what do you use to do your writing? Sometime in the next month or two I'll be getting my netbook and I'm starting to wonder about things like this.

I do have Word on mine (it comes with Word--I haven't bought a code yet though) but I usually use google docs to write. That way I can write from any computer with an internet connection.
