I stepped outside to take out the garbage tonight and breathed in the sweet smell of pine trees and the Christmas season. As I walked back toward the house I thought about last March and how beautiful it was when it snowed heavily here. Did I remember to send those photos of the house to my dad? Maybe not. Tell me more about that area you photographed, east of Vallejo. Is it in American Canyon?

No, it is along the Sacramento River just a bit east of 80. You get there by heading over towards Benicia on 780. If you search "Vallejo, CA" in Google Maps, you can see where the place is. See Glencove just east of the bridges over Carquinez Strait. It's pretty new over there, and upscale. The places are nice, but it has the feeling of exclusive, and far from funky or historic.

I took the picture from across the river in Crockett.

Oh, and Crockett is far from "exclusive"... or at least it USED to be!
