inmates

i have a friend, a new friend whom i work with , he is on work release and up for parole next month. he has been away for 18 years for a violent crime. my internal conflict is , crime wise ive always been conservitive, however this guy is really one of the nicest guys ive ever known,he is smart and wise....not the same violent criminal who was ( Read more... )

...I'm curious how did you meet him and how long have you known him? I think that people can learn from their mistakes, but it takes a bit of courage from the rest of us to give people a chance to do so. If I hope to be forgiven for my mistakes, I need to give other people a chance as well....

thanks for reading... as you know im in charge of the plant operations at a state owned hospital, the state uses inmates to do the grounds work, so i have 5 inmates under one of the guys who is under me. this guy and i have been working and talking for about a year, became friends, etc then i found out that he murdered someone, i was shocked and was in question of my feelings on punishment.just to show you what kind of guy he is, weve never had a xmas paryty because its agenced the law to use state money to pay for it, he builds benchs and chairs and pic nic tables for us" the best ive ever seen" he offered to build them and sell them to the staff to pay for a party for us at chef freds, a party that he cannot attend.
