So, we drove to California.

Barstow, is, I believe, the CA town that connects to the 5 ;)

Also, Eastern CA is all desert, but the 40 doesn't go *that* far South. Had you taken the 10 in, you would've found yourself in Joshua Tree, which is really spectacularly beautiful. Barstow, on the other hand, is just plain gross.

On the other hand, I sort of like ugly towns. Maybe they make me feel tough.
But Barstow was pushing it.
