Yet another preview of the Batman post that will some day be....

Gah, I miss my old profession. I like law and all, but I never find myself struck my Supreme Court cases or recent developments the way some of my colleagues do. On the other hand, I recently came across an article in the Globe by Ty Burr that raised exactly the sort of questions

A documentary would probably bring up the fact that many people feel helpless about the situation in Iraq. We can't do anything to bring the troops home, or send move over there. We don't have a Super Soldier (poor Cap!) with high tech gadgets that let him sniff out and recover Osama Bin Laden. We have politicians spinning different angels on the war, and citizes calling each other traitors and tearing each other apart.

Movies like the Dark Knight might touch on those issues, but they also give crystal clear situations for people to shine in (see the barge scene). They give you heroes who can Act, and not just sit powerlessly (though even our heroes feel pretty powerless in the face of Chaos Personified).

That's a start on my thoughts, anyhow.
