Does anybody actually use the lj-talk instant messenger? I've seen it mentioned on some of your user info pages but I've only ever seen one person online once.

Although I think it'd be a little jolting to suddenly have phone conversations with all my lj friends (which is why I don't think I'd use the real-time voice conversation feature that often ( Read more... )

It doesn't seem terribly spectacular (esp. since no one seems to use it); it's mostly just an IM/voice messenger like Skype. What made it seem appealing is that it automatically collects all your mutual livejournal friends so, in theory, if all your lj friends were to use it, you could chat with them on a real-time basis.

Of course, it's old hat for all my pals that I already chat with on msn, the phone, or in-person. But for livejournal people that I'd like to get to know more, it would seem like a great way to break the ice. Of course, I guess I could always just ask if they use msn.

yeah I was assuming it wasn't anything special.
it would be kewl if everyone logged on, then i can catch up with a few people.
however, it would probably be like MSN where everyone is either on "away" or appear offline.
