I am contemplating a new lens after today's expedition to take photos of a fast-moving dog in snow in overcast conditions. Clearly I need something faster that'll catch more light, I am just not sure what.
I picked up the new Nikon 35mm 1.8. Already had their 50mm 1.8, but on the smaller sensor it's not the most useful focal length (makes a great portrait lens, though). But you're Canon, right? I'm not sure what they have that's similar, but there's probably something.
Yeah, Canon here. I have the 50mm f/1.4 and it's AWESOME but hard to catch the right angle sometimes because you have to move around your subject so much to frame shots. My only other lenses are my cheap kit (28-135mm f/3.5) and my landscape lens, a 17-40mm f4 L. Maybe I should try a 35mm and see how it goes.
