Clickety-clack, clickeyt-clack, clickety-clack

The rhythmic sound of the train and its gentle swaying almost lulled her to sleep. Almost. Sleep, something she wished for and shunned at the same time.
Sarah hadn't slept properly in a week.
The events of seven days ago still seemed surreal and impossible. A nightmare she had yet to wake up from.

After four days in the hospital in a tiny Scottish town being scrutinized, questioned and tested they had finally deemed her fit to travel. She had no idea whom she was meeting at the end of this train journey, she didn't really care as long as she could get answers.

Answers for who she was. For what she was. For why she couldn't seem to get home overseas no matter how hard she tried and why it just seem so right she take the train ticket that arrived with the strange crow at her bedroom window in the hospital.

Sarah glanced up to the baggage overhang at the thought of the bird. Sure enough the crow was still there. She was beginning to question her sanity as it seemed she was the only one who could see the bird. She really didn't think people in rural Scotland generally had crows ride in the baggage compartments of their train cars on a regular basis.
The crow was also different from the average bird. It seemed intelligent. It looked at her when she spoke to it as well as watched her every movement intently.
Sarah's attempts to shoo the crow away had met with much croaking and cawing. After a solid 10 minutes at the train platform before boarding the train, she had given up.
