The iPad - I admit, I don't get it

So Steve Jobs introduced Apple's newest creation today - the iPad. It is a tablet PC. But in reality it is essentially a really big iPod touch with possible 3G connectivity (that costs an extra $130 plus monthly fees) and compatibility with Apple's equivalent of Office
