My last post should have gone up forever ago! I'm not sure what was going on with LJ at the time, but it's up now. Weird!
Anyway, I finished the work on my mom's piece last night!
Cute! Found this pattern while on the Shop Hop over the summer. My mom saw it and got the material and I thought she expected me to make it for myself because I LOVE chocolate-covered cherries! However, she asked me to make it for her instead. Um, okay... I didn't think she liked them. Ah, well, I still have the pattern and can make another, I guess. Here's a detail of the side of the finish:
I really like this finishing technique! It's called a "no-sew cube" finish and I think it's a great way to display pieces that may be too small to frame but don't necessarily make for good biscornu. It was fun choosing fabric and ribbons, too!
Only four more gifts to make! Thank goodness I'm taking the week of Thanksgiving off or I'd never finish by Christmas. Seriously!
