Am I the only one starting to get creeped out by all these cracks in the ground?

*Danny turns the camera towards the ground, showing a particularly large fissure. It's too dark inside for the camera to reach more than a few feet, and looks wide enough that jumping over it is not just an inconvenience, but unsafe.*

*The camera turns back to him.* I've ( Read more... )

Then may I ask why you keep repeating the process?

Misplaced hope or boredom?

Can I choose both?

I stopped trying to fill it in when I saw what was happening. Before that, though, I kept thinking it might still somehow help, or something.

Now I know better.

It's not like something is going to leap out at you from it. Why not just simply avoid the things?

Because something actually might?

I've got a bad feeling about this whole earthquake thing. This isn't normal, and as far as I remember, especially-abnormal-things happening in Somarium tend to blow up in our faces.

Nothing's got me so far.

Well, yes. That does tend to be the way things work around here, yes. [he recalls Danny but vaguely. It was a while ago.] You're back.

So far.

Well, then, you see my point?

... Um. Yeah--did you, um, know me? *Danny looks at him again, squinting a little. This guy looks mildly familiar if he thinks hard about it--but then again, so do a lot of other things he's not sure about.*

So filling them really does just make things worse? [A frown. She had seen the cracks too, and wanted to do something about them. They were so dangerous! But if they only got worse...]

That's what I've been seeing so far.

If that's the case, though, then I'm kind of at a loss for what to do about them.

Huh, that's weird. You would think filling them would make things better.

[But when did Somarium make sense?]

Yeah, you'd think.

Have you ever seen anything like this, before?

They are a bit shady, especially as we do not know what is causing them.

Yeah, that's what's kind of worrying me the most.

These earthquakes and stuff didn't just come out of nowhere. Something has got to be causing them.

Yes, I agree. [She's thinking for a moment.] Maybe they're dreamquakes?

[yeah.., she really doesn't know.]

Dreamquakes?

Uh.

Like--are you saying our dreams are the ones at fault? Somehow?

What did you use to fill it in?

phantomfenton January 18 2012, 19:42:15 UTC
Just some dirt. And some snow.

Maybe a rock or two.

dedikayted January 21 2012, 09:44:40 UTC
Oh...maybe they fell through eventually?

Fell through?

*His eyebrows float up like a pair of slow-witted, eye-brow-shaped balloons.* Like--as if the cracks were just getting bigger all along?
