Kibum walks over to Jonghyun who has a big grin plastered on his face. Jonghyun sticks out his hand that’s gripping brightly colored balloons. His other hand is clutching his backpack strap.
Kibum eyes Jonghyun, the scene looking too familiar to him. He tries really hard not to laugh at Jonghyun but his attempts to stifle a loud laugh don’t work. Kibum takes the balloons from Jonghyun’s hand and continues to drown in his laughter.
“What’s so funny? Do you have to laugh at me every time you see me?” Jonghyun’s hands are now both on his backpack straps and he scrunches his eyes together to stare at Kibum. As if he looks intensely enough, he’ll understand why Kibum is in a fit of laughter.
Kibum slowly breathes to stop his laughter. “You’re always holding out something with a stupid grin every time you see me.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing,” Kibum pats Jonghyun’s shoulder and runs his hand down his arm. “Nothing at all.”
Jonghyun’s still confused but decides to go along with whatever Kibum says. “Lunch or skyline first?”
“No lunch, I might barf if I get up there after I eat.”
“Ok, skyline it is!” Jonghyun claps his hands together and drags Kibum to wait on line for the ride.
Kibum looks up at the moving carts that are dangling on the cable. “I don’t want to do this.” Kibum crosses his arms, the balloons wavering in the air. “Let’s just grab lunch and go watch a movie or something.”
“Come on. I guarantee you’ll like it.”
“No.”
“Yes,” Jonghyun drags out the word to emphasize his seriousness. “Please?”
Kibum looks at Jonghyun, his mind running through all the bad things that could happen up in the air. He figures the worse would be the cable snapping, but that never happened around here. “Fine. But if I die, I’m going to haunt you forever.”
“Deal.”
“And....and you have to hold my hand,” Kibum stutters.
“Definitely.” Jonghyun beams and his smile is contagious because Kibum is also smiling (even though his heart is about to jump out his throat). “Wait, you have to make a wish.”
“What?”
“Make a wish and let go your balloons.”
Kibum rolls his eyes and closes them. The balloons drift up in the air seconds later.
Kibum is going to kill Jonghyun; he’s going to strangle him and beat him with a rock.
The usher pushed Kibum inside the cart, but cut off Jonghyun, saying how five was the maximum limit. Before Jonghyun could protest or call Kibum back, the cart started to ascend.
Now Kibum is shaking, huddled in the corner with his eyes closed, cursing Jonghyun and spewing profanities under his breath.
