"I've" is a shortened form of "I have", but it's used differently. People say "I've got soul" or "I have soul." It means the same thing. Why not, "I've soul?" I've an issue with this ( Read more... )

I think that in technical terms "I've soul" is correct, but it's archaic English. So you COULD say that and be grammatically correct, you'd just be speaking like someone from two hundred years ago.
