Crazy Raspberry Ants are eating computers!

Apparently, there's actually a species of ant with that name, which is drawn to electronic devices for nesting.

I remember when I had cable problems at the old apartment, and the technician looked and found that bugs had laid eggs inside the cable.

And also the time ants swarmed into my car. 

Found this in cat_macros. Just what the doctor ordered for stress.

I've got my garden started.  Squash, peppers, sage, carrots, spinach, and sugar snap peas planted.  The carrots don't seem to have popped up yet, but the peas and spinach are pushing up tiny little shoots, and I think I saw a bloom on one of the pepper plants ( Read more... )

I checked, and the state's still under water restrictions.  I can only water my lawn on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, between midnight and 10am.  I'm usually either asleep or at work during those times, and my yard sprinklers are only in the front yard, nowhere near the garden ( Read more... )

I tried to stop by the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon today, but got a late start due to sleeping in after storms overnight.  By the time I arrived, the rain had slowed to a trickle, but I was surprised to see almost no one there.  The stands and such for the festival were still up, but no one was running them ( Read more... )

I've got my garden set up with topsoil and a little fertilizer, and so far I've planted Jalapeno peppers, squash, and a little sage bush.  I plan on laying down some sugar snap peas and carrots, spinach, and whatever flowers look right ( Read more... )
