Test-Driving for Drinkworthiness

I got to keep some of my recent pottery batch around for household use. And through use, I get to learn whether they count as "functional." It's one thing to be a cup-with-handle, but another thing entirely to be a cup-with-handle that feels comfortable when grasped or held. And the world does depend on its virgos for crispness! :-)

Hark! There is no cup or dish or lump of clay made by your fabulous and creative hand that is unworthy of giving to me.... um... just putting that out there ;-)

Friend crushes rule. In fact, every time you write I feel giddy & squiggly :-)

Feel better soon, girlista!

Oh I already feel better, thank you! Last week was the tail end of the flu so I'm out and about. Also, you're too sweet.

you flatter me, sir. Although it's funny that you mention chocolate because there's a point in the drying process- the point at which one does all the trimming and greenware surface decoration- where the pottery is exactly the texture of fine chocolate. Down to the shave curls that come off in the trimming.

I'm assembling my Oompa Ninjas as we speak.

Thanks! She's having me start on a project of which you would wholly approve, given its meticulous requirements:
- 12 identical bowls
- Down to rim, height, and foot measurements
- They should be able to stack together (not nesting, but stackable so that foot lines up with foot and rim lines up with rim).

Absolutely gorgeous. And they work as cups, better still.

I would be inclined to drink tea out of the top three and coffee out of your favourite cup: it seems the colours go better that way, for me at least.
