Wow, that looks like so much fun! Eeek!! XD Slayers stuff! Man, I'd love to see some Slayers stuff! I really need to go to an anime convention one of these days! It looks so cool! I'm so glad you had a good time!! ^_^
it was fun! i wish i was able to go to others because it seems the smaller cons get better guests! If your able, you should try and go to one near you if there is! we need more slayers stuff!!! enjoy your vacation as well!! how long will you be gone?
Yeah, hopefully I'll get to go to one near me sometime! (I'm always busy when they take place because... well... I'm always busy! DX) But if I go, I'd definitely want to cosplay Slayers! That'd be so awesome! More Slayers!!!
We've been gone exactly one week from today, and we're going to be gone two more weeks, then I get home for a little less than a week, and I leave home for another week. *whew* Is is bad that I'm tired already? Q_Q But thanks!

I wish I could have gone with you (I hope we have better luck next year). It looks like it was fun.
It's so cool that you got to meet Furukawa in the dealers' room and talk to him! That must have been such a thrill!
Those Flynn and Rapunzel cosplayers are so pretty! I wish I could have seen them in person. And I'm not surprised that there's tons of MLP merchandise in the dealers room. The new MLP reboot is spreading like a virus in EVERY fandom. XD
I can kinda understand why some con-goers are bothered by all the non-anime stuff. But I'm glad it's there. I'm not as crazy about anime as I was when I was a teenager. And the few shows I love enough to buy oodles of merchandise for are so old/obscure that it's hard to find ANYTHING related to them. So having a few booths selling Disney stuff or 80s toys are nice to have. Especially the booths that sell Japanese Disney capsule toys (those things are AMAZING!).

I've never been to Pacific Media Expo (is it held in LA, too?). A November con would be cool because my birthday is in November. So our con outing could double as a birthday party! LOL
The only current anime I'm following is FMA:Brotherhood. Like you, I usually seek out the older, out-of-print stuff when I shop in anime dealers' rooms. Mainly, the stuff I remember watching when I was a teenager.
Your Furukawa story reminds me of the time I ran into Vic Mignogna in the hall on my last AX trip. I literally bumped into him while we were both dashing through an empty hallway. I said something along the lines of "Dude you rock!" and reached out to shake his hand.
He replied by saying this (in a super fast voice), "I'm in a big hurry but it's so nice to meet you, hon! Bye!" And then he gave me a HUGE bear hug!
It was a little awkward (all I wanted was a handshake); but I guess he assumed I was one of those nutty fangirls who always glomp him at conventions. :P
