Ever noticed how whenever people say a item of technology is "foolproof", "will never need repairs" or "will last 100 years", a subset of Murphy's law kicks in and the item in question breaks down with a few months? It like that bit in one of the Hitchhikers books where a special air conditioning and circulation system is installed in a building
