Mordecai had been slumped in the chair, head rested on a closed fist and leaning on the chair's arm. His mood had barely improved over the past few days; Mordecai simply did not adjust. The bickering would fire up, the long silences and then again, the occasional snide comment would be uttered and they'd be fighting again.
Her words roused him from his attempt at sleep and without thought he opened his eyes to look towards her voice. For the first time in days, Mordecai could actually see her.
Though he hadn't exactly made great big swings to catch her attention, the movement dragged her line of sight so that Lilith was fixing him with a direct stare. Given the lack of information about how long these punishments lasted, nobody could truly blame her for assuming him to still be blind.
"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey," she drawled. Her head turned away again so that she could once again regard the very fascinating ceiling, stretching some as she did.
He was watching her, trying not to make it too obvious that he was doing so only to be distracted by the very distinct voice and form of Patricia Tannis standing to his side.
His head turned slowly to the woman beside him, looking up at her with annoyance. So, this is what Lilith had been seeing while he was blind. He dashed a hand out at the image and found nothing.
What was he swatting at now? Lilith assumed it wasn't a diving Rakk, given his slow reaction time. Despite knowing how futile it was, she glanced at the empty air he'd struck and sighed gustily.
"Took the words right outta my mouth."
Literally. How unoriginal of him. It was too early for her to gear up for another of their fights, so she kept that comment nonverbal and opted to reach over. She twiddled her fingers boredly in his general direction, not expecting results. "How many am I holding up?"
