Refinishing the Beirut Table

Most of you know the old oak table Katy had bought some years ago, for about $30. For a long time it was our Beirut table. The finish was pretty bad and a year or more of drunken beer pong did not help ( Read more... )

I do remember that table, it looks so nice now!!

Are those purple nitrile gloves I see you wearing? I didn't think they sold those in hardware stores...

Also, my local strawberries will be ready to become tarts in, um, june? july? Crazy southern weather!

Yep, those are nitrile gloves, I took them home from work. We are really pleased with the way it came out, I didn't think it would be that easy! (Not that I want to do it again any time soon, heh).

This is our second week of outdoor grown strawberries. They go for about $10 / gallon at the farmer's market, $8 sometimes or at the place. If you pick 'em yourself it's $1 / lb. We've made ice cream, two tarts, my mom made freezer jam, milk shakes ...

That table is enormous and so pretty! Did you sand and stain the legs, too, or only the top?

Oh, I wish we had local strawberries! Bella and I are going to be members of the berry farm this summer and pick our own as often as we can.
