To gain a greater understanding of City culture. My hypothesis is that the culture that has developed in the City resembles that of port towns and colonized islands -- where you have a number of different cultures forced to live and work together. However, there should also be distinct differences due to the supernatural nature of this place and the tyrannical rule of the deities.

There have been, by at least half a dozen different people. Though they weren't generally thought of as studies on the City's culture.

It is. I study human culture. My specialization is in ancient cultures and what can be learned about human activities through their bones, but I have done some work studying contemporary cultures.

Family: My mother was killed when I was born and my father died, possibly killed, then I was in an orphanage until I was 10 when I was adopted by a man who was my father for 6 years until he tried to enthrall me and when that didn't work kill me. I killed him in self defense and then went to live with a friend of the family for two years. A few years ago I learned I had a half brother.

What is your "homeworld"? It's Earth, industrial, 2009. I live in Chicago, Illinois and I speak English and really bad Latin.

What was your profession there? Wizard. Socioeconomic status? Barely scraping by as lower middle class.

How long have you been in the City? About two years all together.
Is anyone from your homeworld here? Several people, yes.

Where do you live? Building 2, Apartment 214/215.
Where do you work? Or do you not work at all? I own a magic shop and work part time with the police force.
