Are you being made to do something that you don't really want to do in real life?
Once I had a dream that I was getting married to this rich ugly old man...I was marrying him for money. Then I decided I could not possibly fuck him even for the $$$.

You may not want to hear it.
But we have tough love you and I.
It means you are not giving yourself permission to be happy (conflicting values and beliefs) and you don't think you will find happiness (scarcity mentality) and you think your true love is somewhere else, lost (and kicking yourself for making mistakes outside of your control). Further you are worried about what others think about you (seeking approval) there maybe some low confidence issues in there as well but on the plus side you're worried about losing your freedom and independence. Oh my.
