Thanks, Pirate Hooker

Apr 04, 2007 00:06

The title comes from Mary Alice on Ace of Cakes - today she was talking about having a message from someone with the E-mail Pirate Hooker and she read part of it and then said "thanks, Pirate Hooker." It made me laugh like crazy which is a good thing, I think. I need to laugh more, seriously.

It feels like it's been the longest day and, while it has been long, I've definitely had much longer days in the past... I didn't get much sleep last night which is part of the problem and I'm very sleepy which is making it somewhat hard to write this entry but at the same time, my head hurts too bad to sleep. So to keep myself distracted so I'm not focused on the throbbing inside my cranium, I am writing this entry that I have been meaning to write for several days. Woot.

There has been a lot of stuff going on which is why I haven't been writing much. I've been working extra hours and swamped with school stuff to deal with so the times I've had to write haven't been enough for me to get everything out that I want to. I've started writing entries a couple of times and nothing but crap came so I just deleted them and resolved to try again later. I won't get into the details with everything because that would take too long but I'll hit the highlights...

Pineapple went to Shreveport this weekend (Saturday Sunday) to see his grandmother and to get her to a bank branch so they could sign the loan papers. You know, the loan that he's been trying to get since mid-January, the same loan that he wouldn't need anymore if he would have spent all the time and energy he did trying to get the loan done saving money and budgeting. Anyway, he was supposed to be back here on Sunday evening so that he could do laundry, straighten up, and then go to work on Monday evening. Apparently all the banks are closed in his grandmother's area on Saturdays so he had to stay until Monday to get the loan stuff finished. He called JC to let him know this was going on Saturday night but didn't bother to call anyone yesterday to let them know. He ended up missing work, not even getting in touch with anyone in the kitchen until almost 6pm.

Fucking ridiculous.

Everyone in the kitchen was/is really pissed at him. They all went out after work last night to vent and get some drinks which would have been fine except that, of course, Cloud didn't call to let me know what was going on. He left to come home around 1:30 which wouldn't be a big deal normally but I had to get up super early this morning and while I was trying to call and find out where he was/tell him that I was going to bed since I had to be up at the butt-crack of dawn, he wouldn't answer his damn phone. Add that to the fact that I couldn't leave him a damn voicemail because he still hasn't set his mailbox up (he got the phone, what, 2.5 months ago??) and I was just pissed. However, I was pissed and tired so I ended up passing out around 1:30 after he finally called to tell me he was on his way home...
When I woke up at 7 this morning I rolled over to find he wasn't there. Of course, I bolted straight out of bed, panicked, then grabbed my cell and called his only to hear it vibrate on his desk... I found him passed out on the couch with the TV on and was simultaneously relieved and incensed. I woke him up and we got into it for a bit but things resolved eventually and we made up before I left...

At 8 am, I hurried off to Ochsner to get my second Gardasil injection and I arrived with plenty of time to spare. They took me back at 8:50 and gave me the shot, then asked me to stick around until 9:20 so they could make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction. That was rather annoying especially since they didn't tell me that ahead of time but whatever. Then I stopped at Starbucks on my way to work...

Work this week is killer and it's only getting worse. Already my boss has roped me into going to two meetings for her because she is feeling "overwhelmed." Join the club, bitch! The only reason I even agreed to do them is that the AC in the phone room is broken and it is UNBEARABLE in there right now - going to meetings means that I don't have to be in there for hours at a time, heh.

I only worked until 1:30 and then I left because I had to meet with Dee on the northshore to plan our group session for next week. Before heading over there, I stopped at a local wine store and picked up 4 six packs of the Abita strawberry harvest ale which I simply adore. Then I went across the street to eat at the new taqueria there. It was good, not Martinez, but very passable - I may have to go there more often... Then I took off for the northshore, making it to the coffee shop for our meeting right as Dee did.

The meeting went well - Dee and I are very much on the same page and we had similar ideas. It didn't even really feel like work because we think so much alike and we were doing a lot of talking about other things as we worked. I just hope that our plan goes over well which I hope that it will. If not, we've realized there's nothing we can do about it and that's that. I feel much better now that we've established a plan. I do hope it goes well though...

After that, I stopped by the Godiva store at Lakeside and picked up Kit's birthday present (her b-day is tomorrow) and then came home. I felt fine until I got here and then my headache started coming on as well as some slight nausea and some dizziness. I think it's the shot from this morning because those are some of the side effects that the nurse told me about. I'm not overly worried - aside from the headache, they aren't terribly bad. Of course it could just be a migraine and I could be off but let's hope not...

Ugh, I think I should go lay down for a bit or maybe take some more medicine - this headache is killing me.

Have a good night everyone.
