If you get an automated phone call saying you've won Air Miles points, just hang up, it's a fraud. I got the call and did hang up on it (I did not press "1"), but wrote to Air Miles to ask whether it was legit or not. Apparently it's not as this was their response:

Many of our Collectors across the country have reported this to us, and I thank you

This is pretty common in this day and age, no? I'm curious about why you are feeling so annoyed, if it's faily common.

I wouldn't expect you to be "caught", you're pretty smart. Personally, I "deal" with Air Miles so I'd be safe too, if only for that reason.

IMNSHO, I think Air Miles is a "Big Brother" type consumerist conspiracy. And so are credit card companies, but at least they will lend me $$ in addition to giving me "points".
