I don't know if you've looked back at recent posts. But, I was thinking something similar about 9 days ago when we lost power at $DAYJOB and it didn't come back on during the time I was at the office.

I was actually thankful that $BOSS is old-school and we do a lot of our work by hand. I think people that grow up in today's digital/electronic age don't learn or appreciate certain things as much because all the have to do is press buttons and get instant results without much thought behind how the results are generated. That is kind of why as much as I miss attending games where my laptop and statistics software are needed, I also don't mind keeping game statistics by hand at the lower levels. I figure it helps keep the ol' mind sharp. :)

I always hated using the calculator at school. They used to make us when I was in private school. I liked the move to public school because they weren't allowed to use their calculators unless they were doing logarithms and other more advanced topics. Go figure, the public schools taught better than the private ones. I remember some of my private school classmates having trouble with basic sums because they got so used to calculators!

I haven't seen your posts yet, I've been waiting for a break in the traffic... (which is incidently right now) to be able to go through all the posts i've missed in the last few weeks.
