A brief breakdown of 3D vs. non-3D

So. I'm not a big fan of 3D. I saw Smurfatar in 3D and it was still meh, I saw UP in 3D and then I bought the DVD and there wasn't a great deal of difference. Plus I already wear glasses so it's incredibly awkward. 3D really doesn't do much for me ( Read more... )

Very funny little sketches!

The whole 3d hype is indeed almost always overrated (Alice in Wonderland? meh.)but for HTTYD it gives this almost new push to see it in cinemas while you still can because it won't last forever. Makes a cinema experience almost a ride instead of a film! These days it's so easy to wait for the dvd and see it at home, people get lazy :p

Thank you! Yes, I saw it 3 times, and I really feel like the (extremely expensive) choice was justified--because this is a full cinematic experience and so infinitely much more amazing on the big screen. This is no ordinary movie--it's a full-scale show. I'm almost scared to see it reduced to DVD; it's like filming a stage production--something invariably gets lost.
