I feel INSANELY lucky. And I really hope you get to go eventually! But just remember: no matter how awesome I make it sound, the real thing is always about 3732983 times MORE AWESOME. Nothing prepares you for the stunningness of the set. <3
I've loved Wicked for a few years now (was even in the fandom for a while and wrote some awful fic and what-not), but I've only ever been able to see bootlegs. I've never actually seen the show live. ;_______; I'm hoping to finally catch it this summer, when the traveling company comes to my city, but I don't know if I can afford it. WOE.
OMG I know that feeling! I was fangirling it and analyzing the soundtrack (every last second of it) way back before I thought I'd EVER get the chance to see it. After it came to Sydney, it seemed that half my school went, and I was ready to start waxing emo poetry, the despair THAT inspired in me--to have it IN MY CITY and not being able/allowed to go. The whole night felt like a dream--I still can't quite believe I actually went and saw it live!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you--everyone deserves to go see at least once, it's just so amazing. Arrive some time too early and go up front to admire the set, it is orgasmically gorgeous. You won't know where to look once it starts, though--the costumes, the lighting, the set and scene changes, or the movement on stage. I want to go see it again and again, but the tickets are insanely expensive. Not without reason, of course...*sighs dreamily*
